Spray Paint Beijing Film Screening at 杂家zajia lab

A documentary by Lance Crayon about graffiti art in China, Spray Paint Beijing is the very first documentary of its kind, capturing the art form's momentum in the capital of China over the course of one year while also revealing a handful of the artists, foreign and Chinese, who transform Beijing's walls during the day and night.

"China's rapid progress and modernization has paved the way for graffiti to develop as rapidly as any other art form in the country."

The filmmaker Lance Crayon is from Forth Worth, Texas and has been living in Beijing since December 2009 working as a video journalist for China Radio International (CRI) and currently works for Global Times. Before he came to China, he had previously worked in the film industry in the US for 10 years, but Spray Paint Beijing will be his directorial debut.

The screening of this 90 minute documentary begins at 8:30PM, followed by a Q&A with director Lance Crayon.  Artists depicted in the film will also be in attendance for the screening (and possibly also available during the Q&A session).

Admission for the screening and Q&A session is RMB 20, which also includes a drink.  Reservations can be made by emailing: zajialab@126.com.

After the brief Q&A session, they will also have a "STREET WRITING" Screening After Party, which will include a DJ SET together with video screenings.
