Meals by Michelin-starred chefs for under US$ 100 will be on offer at the 11-day Langham Food & Wine Festival 2012.

The food festival will feature eight guest chefs from around the world, as well as the Langham's own culinary masters, from September 13-23.

The guest chefs include: three-Michelin-star chef Albert Roux from London, one-Michelin-star Spanish chef Angel Pascual, New Zealand's new star Benjamin Bayly, two-Michelin-star Hibiscus owner Claude Bosi, French pastry maker Gontran Cherrier, two-Michelin-star contemporary Italian chef Igor Macchia, Philippe Mouchel from Australia and Hong Kong's homegrown chef Susur Lee returning from Canada.

The chefs will be present at the dining rooms of The Langham in Tsim Sha Tsui and Langham Place in Mong Kok. Set menus showcasing the best of each chef's talents as well as master classes for wine and rum appreciation, cooking and pastry-making are now available for booking.

The eight guest chefs will serve in Hong Kong's Langham Hotels for less than two weeks.

Guest chef lunch and dinner by Albert Roux on September 21 are recommended by Langham's chefs Mark Bannon and Paul McLoughlin.

"It is affordable," said McLoughlin. "Where can you get a meal like that for such a price?"

The price being HK$ 568 (US$ 73) for lunch and HK$ 1,088 (US$ 140) for dinner, with wine-pairing. Seats will be filling up fast.

The festival's best bargain though is the HK$ 258 (US$ 33) semi-buffet where guests can choose one specialty dish by chefs Roux, Pascual or Bosi.

McLoughlin is also looking forward to the work of New Zealand's rising star Benjamin Bayly. The Kiwi hotshot is currently the executive chef at The Grove in Auckland, which won Metro Supreme Restaurant of the Year award for 2010 and 2011.

Bayly will cook a New Zealand dinner on September 22, priced at HK$ 1,288 (US$ 166) per person, and lead two master classes on September 20 and 21, at HK$ 888 (US$ 114) per class.

Charitable foodies should bid on the private dinner auction by chef Macchia to be held in the penthouse suite of Langham Place on September 20. Bids for the dinner will start at HK$ 20,000 (US$ 2578) for a table for eight diners and the money will be donated to youth service group, Hong Kong Playground Association.
