Xiajiadian Jade Statue
Recently a new museum for Hongshan culture, a Neolithic tribe that resided in the west Liaoning/east Inner Mongolia area more than 5000 years ago, was opened in Tienjin. It featured exhibit is a small jade sculpture from the Xiajiadian era that existed in the same region from about 1000 years later, spanning approximately the same years as Xia, Shang and Zhou dynasties and whose jade artifacts showed Hongshan influence
the overall appearance of the object is a dressed figure with bull horns, a demon rather than human
and sharing some of the features of ancient west Asian artifacts
