YuanMingYuan, also known as the 'Old Summer Palace' (The Old Summer Palace, known in China as the Gardens of Perfect Brightness )and originally called the Imperial Gardens, was an extremely large complex of palaces and gardens 8 km (5 miles) northwest of the old city wall of Beijing,it is very close to the Summer Palace. YuanMingYuan was constructed during the 18th and early 19th century and was a wonderland of lakes and waterways, bridges, hills and pavilions. Half of the garderns are covered by the waters of lakes, winding streams and ponds. It was at YuanMingYuan that the emperors of the Qing Dynasty resided and handled government affairs - until it was destroyed; the Forbidden City was mostly used only for formal ceremonies at this time. YuanMingYuan was, indeed, a veritable museum of garden construction and horticulture. Known to be one of the largest museums in the world, a popular name in China was the 'Garden of Gardens'. the Imperial Gardens were destroyed by British and French troops in 1860 during the Second Opium War. a large number of these collections were plundered by the Anglo-French Allied Forces, at the same time as the Garden was burnt down. Now, most of these historical curiosities are displayed in the other countries' museums, including the British Museum; Bibliotheque Nationale de France; Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York City, USA; Oslo Museum of Applied Art and so on.Today, the destruction of the Gardens of Perfect Brightness is still regarded as a symbol of foreign aggression and humiliation in China.http://www.travelchinaguide.com/attraction/beijing/yuanmingyuan.htm360-degree panorama photography by yunzeng liu - Beijing: Beijing Old Summer Palace 2——Changchun Park Western Building relics of yuanmingyuan 360° panorama by yunzen liu.

The street of loud hammering sounds of coppersmiths beating copper and brass. This beautiful copper street is located in the capital of Rushar county who bears the same name. Here they are making from big to small Temple roof ornaments and all the buddhists deities in copper, brass, and or bronze. - The coppersmith, Tibet 2012

The Massacre of Nanjing, perpetrated in December 1937 by the Japanese Imperial Army, inaugurated the appalling series of atrocities that punctuate the Second World War.
During six weeks, civilians and unarmed soldiers of the Chinese city of Nanjing have suffered the effects of an incredible barbarism. 300,000 people have been killed, mostly by bayonet and sabre and other horrible ways …
Nothing could prevent the Japanese soldiers to engage in rape, looting, summary executions and mass destruction.
With great restraint, the memorial tells the untold suffering of an entire population. It is a place of meditation and intense emotion.
Impossible, during the visit, not relive the nightmare of all those innocent victims of fascist ideology and militaristic Japan of the 30'.

- China 2012. Nanjing Massacre Memorial.
