2012 has been quite the eventful year!

From the election of China's new president Xi Jingping to contemporary Chinese artist Ai Wei Wei dancing Gangnam Style, I quite liked this round-up "That Was The Year That Was" by Bespoke Beijing's Urban Edit.

Taking a moment to reflect on my eye-opening adventures and life-changing moments of 2012, I am reminded of all the things proud that I've achieved, things that make me happy and have improved my well-being in both mind and in health -

My Top 12 List of 2012:

9. 8-day Bike Trek Adventure Through Yunnan with The Hutong

My Bike Trip with The Hutong was so inspiring I am now their biggest advocate and will now collaborate with The Hutong in arranging for more educational bike trips through diverse regions of China that will live up to their promise of being a "Ride of a Lifetime".

The landscape was stunning with lush green mountains surrounding you and rolling hills to take in the view. The biking itself was quite a challenge, but it pushed everyone in the group to motivate each other and push our physical limits. More than just biking through breath-taking scenery, The Hutong also arranged for us to visit tea farms and tea factories, walking us through the intricate, complex process of producing pure Pu'er tea that Yunnan is so well known for.  The food was phenomenally fresh and I most enjoyed our over-night visits in minority villages.  Almost a month since we completed this bike journey adventure, now it seems like just a dream.

I am very grateful to the people who have inspired me, laughed with me, ran alongside me/sponsored me, and supported me throughout the year. It's these true friendships and wonderful adventures that make life worth living.

Just the thought of the wonderful things that 2013 has in store for us leaves me with fluttering butterflies in my tummy. Looking ahead in excitement, bring it on 2013!
