Robert A.M. Stern Architects (RAMSA) recently celebrated the opening of the firm's representative office in Shanghai at a reception at the Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund. Attended by RAMSA Partners Grant F. Marani and Paul L. Whalen, Chief Operating Officer N. Scott Johnson, and Shanghai representative Kayin Tse, the event noted several of the firm's achievements in the China market since 2003. Among the most high-profile projects undertaken in the Greater China region are 50 Connaught Road Central in Hong Kong, which was recently bought by the Agricultural Bank of China for the record price of HK$ 4.88 billion (US$ 629 million) or HK$ 248,600 per square meter, and the ongoing Heart of Lake residential development in Xiamen.

Currently, RAMSA is working on projects in Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, Changzhou, Tianjin, Dalian, Chongqing, and Jinhua, as well as in Taiwan, Singapore, India, France, Russia, and the United Kingdom. Up next for RAMSA is the opening of the firm's representative office in Beijing next spring.
