- For my friend Jair

Today I happened upon this local artist specializing in ironic posters posing modern societal questions as seen from local eyes very, very cleverly - these are the things locals are talking and wondering about and I think Jair will enjoy this. The artist's use of old Communist propagandist scenes combined with the modern Capitalist Companies' advertisements (or shall we call it Propaganda too?) makes this so much more fun and so much more thought provoking.
The question as seen by locals and me is, is what is old and what is new? What is propaganda and what is not? Then, is China marching to the beat of KFC / Big Mac OR is KFC / Big Mac, with China being their biggest market, marching to Her beat?
Let's see where the future takes us ;-)))) - Juxtapostion

Very much away from any tourist trail, a local horse race festival.
Horse racing is an activity beloved by Tibetan people, for it is not only an assemblement for leisure time and exchanging farming experience, but also a show of horse racing spirit of local people.
Before the horse race starts, the horses are blessed. Tibetans circumambulate there horses arround a heap of stones where they are burning incense of himalayan juniper. Walking trough the incense smoke and throwing paper prayerflags called lungta ("wind horse", colorful papers, which represent good luck and life force) to the air. - Shaolin Temple: pray and practice
Many people know there is a Shaolin Temple in central China's Henan Province. But pictured here is a lesser-known Shaolin Temple in Quanzhou, in southeast China's Fujian Province.
