Interview: Pg. Lost at MAO Livehouse
Pg lost, an indie band from Sweden, is touring their latest album Key in China. We're thoroughly excited for their new look and awesome stage performance that comes with their latest album. City Weekend had a great conversation with these four big boys behind the scenes at Mao Livehouse last Friday before their show.
How was your trip this time to China compared to your previous one?
We feel more relaxed this time. Last time, everything is new to us, for example, the food, the people and also the venue. So this time everything is going great. And we think this time is better because we have a better base, such as a better promotion, better campaign, and even a personal page on Douban. And we think we need to thank New Noise, which is a workshop from Chengdu who brought us here to China.
How did you guys get your start back in 2004?
We started our band in 2004, because we had just graduated from school then and we usually hung out together. We don't want our music to be a more business-type, and we just want to do music without normal boundaries. So we just hang out and have fun and do our music. And this is our main start.
Why did you change your name from "Before You Give In" to "Pg. Lost"?
When we were called "Before You Give In", we played a different kind of music, which is a more emo kind. And after Martin came, we found that the music sounded great so we change the name to Pg. Lost.
What did you study in school?
We majored in music. Music has always been a huge part of our lives
