Grandmaster Yuanming Zhang Qigong

Born in 1963, into a traditional martial arts family in Sichuan province, Grandmaster Yuanming Zhang's entire life has been devoted to Internal Kung Fu, Qigong and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Mt. Qingcheng, where he grew up, has been a center for Daoism and for Masters of martial arts and Qigong. Master Zhang's ancestors have studied, nurtured and refined Daoist Qigong practices, acquiring knowledge for improving health and longevity. He is a descendant of Zhang Daoling, the founder of Celestial Master Daoism, who began his teachings at Mt. Qingcheng. The family teachings and techniques were passed down through successive generations to Zhang Sanfeng, the founder of Daoist Taiji. Master Zhang's Great-Grandfather began to teach him from age three. Young Yuanming showed a special gift for these practices and was singled out by his grandfather and father for early instruction in calligraphy, martial arts and Qigong. He went on to study with twenty-four different masters and hermits. Among them were experts in Chinese medicine, martial arts, Daoism, and Tibetan Buddhism. For more than forty years Master Zhang has been practicing and studying Qigong intensively. All his experiences have directed him down this path.
