The Furious Panda in Assassin’s Creed’s Locales

This is my just-for-fun post on the Assassin's Creed games. The games take place in historical settings and locations around the world. To me it's a game that makes you want to travel. Right now I've been travelling for almost 7 months, and some of my destinations have brought me to cities depicted in AC series. So here is my tribute to my Ezio and Altair. Connor, you'll have to wait a little longer since I haven't been to the US yet.

PS. Spoilers on plot stuff if you haven't played the games!

It started out with me fiddling with the auto-timer on my camera. Since I was wearing a whitish jacket with a hood and wandering around Akko, Israel (Acre in the game), I decided to snap this shot.

Crusader Castle, Acre

When most tourists visit Akko, they marvel at the tunnels and castle. Me, I go "OMG, Altair was here!"

Crusader Castle, Acre

Both taken in the Crusader castle in Akko. Also visited the infirmary where the in-game doctor (Garnier de Naplouse, remember him?) was a kill target.

Dome of the Rock, Jerusalem

That's the Dome of The Rock in the background, in Jerusalem, Israel. I forgot to hood up.

That's it from the first game. Sadly, due to Syria's ongoing situation, I can't take any shots in Damascus or Masyaf. Here's hoping things get better over there.

Leap of Faith - Jerash, Jordan

This kid looks like he's about to do a Leap of Faith. Taken in the Roman ruins of Jerash, Jordan. Not quite in-game locale, but still Templar/Assassin territory.

Red shirt, Petra

Guard looks like he's just waiting for an Air Assassination. Took this in Petra, Jordan. They have people dressing up as guards in the place…

Basilica Di Santa Maria Del Fiore, Firenze

Here are Ezio's locales. This was taken in Florence, Italy. It's a sad shot by a random passer-by (I don't understand why when people take photos, they ignore the background. If I wanted a profile picture of myself, I could just pose in my bedroom), In the background is the Basilica Di Santa Maria Del Fiore. It's the one where Ezio climbs through the domed roof to get inside.

Doge's Palace, Venezia

This shot is in front of the Doge's Palace in Venice, Italy. In the game, Ezio run's after the corrupt Doge along the corridors that go around the courtyard and then down the stairs.

Hagia Sophia, Constatinopole

Another "up close, got to thank passer-by for this shot" pic. This one taken inside Haga Sophia, Istanbul (Constantinopole in Assassin's Creed: Revelations)

Yemi Camii, Constantinopole

Here's an Ottoman mosque, similar to the numerous ones in-game. Also from Istanbul. Don't ask me why I have Happy spelled out…

Kyrenia Harbour

Back to Altair. Taken in Kyrenia harbour, Cyprus. One of the locales in Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines.

Kyrenia Harbour 2

The auto-timer photos come out the best. Also from Kyrenia (Girne in Turkish), Cyprus.

That's it. I know I look really daft in these photos, but hey, it's for fun. Hopefully, I can add in Syria pics in here someday. Also from Alamut, Iran which is not in-game, but is the original Hashashin stronghold.

And when AC4 gets released, I'll probably have to go on another world tour to collect more photos. ;-)
