    Veterans

The main part of BaJiaoGou (Bagou) was build from 1939 when a Sino-British joint venture set up two coal mines in this valley. In 1959 during the period of the "great leap forward" a narrow gauge line was built from the Jangtze Valley uphill to this place, to transport all coal down to a small powerstation and harbour. Until 2010 no any street reached this village. The passenger train on the narrow gauge line, pathes and motorcycles were the only connection to the outside world.
