About Chi Fan for Charity:

Now in its fourth year, Chi Fan for Charity Beijing is Beijing's premiere charity dining event that takes the standard concept of a large gala charity dinner and throws it out the window.

CFFC invites some of Beijing's best restaurants to prepare a special menu accompanied by a selection wines that accompany the meal. Many of the tables are hosted by some of Beijing best known personalities, some by associations and others by groups of friends, and interested individuals can buy seats at these tables through the Chi Fan for Charity website. The per seat prices range from 500 RMB to 1,500 RMB, and tables seat between 10 to 20.

In 2011, CFFC brought together 40 of the very best restaurants in Beijing to donate tables for a city-wide charity dinner aimed at raising funds and awareness for local philanthropic causes. As part of the event, CFFC also arranged for noteworthy members of the community to host tables and invite other charitably-minded individuals to their restaurant. The evening raised over 300,000 RMB in direct support for the Bethel Foundation and New Hope Foundation.

Following the dinners, all guests are invited back to Hatsune's Village location for an after party celebration and an opportunity to meet other diners. The after party activities include a raffle and silent auction which are a vital part of the fundraising activity.  This special evening is now one of the premier culinary events in the city and in 2011 was voted by the readers of The Beijinger as Beijing's 2010 Culinary Event of the Year.

This year, Chi Fan for Charity Beijing is set for Saturday November 10th, 2012 to support Little Flower Projects and The Starfish Project

About Chi Fan for Charity's Beneficiaries 2012:

Little Flower Projects

Little Flower Projects is an outreach of China Little Flower, Inc. Since 1995, the organization has led grassroots, small-scale, effective, and cost-efficient projects throughout China for the benefit of countless children in need. Little Flower Projects focuses on providing specialized care to abandoned infants and nurturing the growth and education of older disabled orphans. They operate in Beijing and Taiyuan, but the children come from all across China. The organization's projects include hospice care, group educational foster care for children ages four to 18, special care for infants, and long-term care for severely disabled children.

You can learn more about Little Flower Projects at www.littleflowerprojects.org.

The Starfish Project

The Starfish Project was established in 2006 to empower exploited women in Asia. The organization developed a socially responsible jewelry business in order to provide women with alternative employment and a range of holistic care opportunities. By 2011, the project grew to support approximately 35 women, primarily through the jewelry company where women have taken on new levels of responsibility and leadership, and are able to provide for their families through meaningful employment. The Starfish Project also provides opportunities for women to heal and grow through counseling, vocational training, language acquisition, family education benefits, health care access as well as housing within the organization's women's shelter. The Starfish Project is committed to restoring hope for each woman that enters its doors.
