Slow Boat's "End of Summer Party" on September 22
I'm not sure I'll be celebrating the "End of Summer" (can't we keep the warm weather just a little bit longer, please?!?) but I'm equally happy to drown my sorrows by downing delicious pints of craft beer while stuffing my face with Home Plate BBQ's menu of crispy fried pickles, juicy ribs, and their legendary BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich.
On Saturday, September 22, Slow Boat Brewery and Home Plate BBQ will be co-hosting a day of drink and food specials. Enjoy the final days of summer in true American spirit by enjoying smooth craft beer brews to the tunes of country music on Home Plate's outdoor patio.
Slow Boat will be serving up SIX different beers on tap including their brand new Flying Whale IPA and their Man-o-War Porter, Captain's Pale Ale, Dogwatch 1600 Wheat, Dragon Boat Summer Ale and last (but not least), they created a special DUNKEL (type of dark German lager) made especially for this event.
"This medium bodied beer celebrates autumn with copper color, wheat taste and a mild banana nose. Malt flavors of caramel and chocolate are sure to please beer lovers of all types." – About the new "END OF SUMMER CELEBRATION DUNKEL" (ABV 4%, IBU 20, SRM 18)
Another one of their new craft releases is their FLYING WHALE IPA (ABV 5.75%, IBU 60, SRM 6) -
"Second in our single hop IPA series, the Flying Whale features the Simcoe hop, a strong biscuit malt backbone and a bold body to support the piney nose and its resinous hop flavor, with an in-your-face bitterness. This will be sure to please any hop head."

They'll be offering some limited edition pint glasses and if you manage to spot some of their "End of Summer" post cards around town, then that also entitles you to get a RMB 5 discount off your first Slow Boat draft beer.
"With good food, good beer and good company, Slow Boat is ready to send summer off in style. Make Slow Boat's 2nd Annual End of Summer Celebration your sole destination for dinner and drinks on Saturday."

About Slow Boat Brewery:
Slow Boat Brewery is a Beijing based microbrewery offering handmade, adjunct free beers.
Slow Boat Brewery was founded by Chandler Jurinka and Daniel Hebert – two Americans living in Beijing.
Slow Boat's beer can be accurately described as "American style craft beer" and is brewed entirely by hand. Their beer is made in small batches using unhurried methods. They use fine two row malted barley in addition to imported German specialty malts, generally regarded as among the finest malts in the world. A wide range of specialty hops distinguish our ales as well as specialty yeast which adds to their distinctive taste, clarity and smooth finish.
"Our beer is fresh and unpasteurized. No preservatives, no chemicals, just purely delicious beer."
Each month Slow Boat releases at least one new kind of beer. If you would like to learn more about Slow Boat, please inquire here.
