This past Sunday, BJ FOoDiEs hosted a private tasting of the not-yet-opened Q Mex Bar & Grill with a modern Mexican feast featuring a mix of tacos, tostadas, "QMexcamole", ceviche, and chili en nogada.

The Mexican dinner + a shot of tequila/Corona was only RMB 100 per person + voluntary donation to featured charity organization TEACH FOR CHINA (TFC), an organization that recruits, selects, trains, and supports outstanding US and Chinese graduates to work side-by-side to deliver an excellent education in high poverty, rural Chinese communities.

This month's BJ FOoDiEs feast had a great turn-out of over 150+ foodies who collectively raised a total of ¥7,656.70, which was directly donated to Teach for China (TFC).  See below for more charity details.

Such a steal-of-a-deal-meal and all in the name of good food, good drinks and good friends while indulging for a cause.

It was dark in Q Mex so we couldn't see our food in detail, but luckily I was sitting next to a chef who knew the chicken was not cooked enough as soon as she cut into the meat.  We notified our server, who came back within minutes with our chicken cooked through.  Not sure if they just nuked our chicken in the microwave though, since it came back to us on the same plate.

In spite of this blunder, the chicken was probably our favorite dish of the meal.
