- A 15th century Korean bowl with marking in Japanese kanji found its way to ancient China by way of Japan 2-2

The bowl was made in Korea for the customer in Japan supposedly during 15th century. It marked 音羽山 which was the name of a famous Japanese buddhist temple. Somehow the bowl in its buddhist style found its way to mainland China. What a journey!

大京，原名大金，位于霞浦东冲半岛东侧，距县城50多公里，是方圆数里小有名气的原生态渔村。相传在明洪武二十年（公元1387年），朝庭为抗击倭寇下令设置海防巡检司千户所，为此，当地民间一直有 "洪武帝要在大金建临时帝都"的传说。初入大京，最先看到的是一座壮观的城堡，小渔村的前世今生，有着与南京明代古城、福建崇武古城一样悠久的历史，虽已经历700多年的风雨侵蚀，风采却丝毫不减当年。据驴友介绍，城堡临海筑就，长近3000米，高约10来米，开设东、西、南三门（北面依山不设门），墙上遍设窝铺、炮位，装备齐全。城外还有一条千米长的护城河，与城堡互相呼应构成坚强的防御体系。
