Hot Pot: Fill Up for Cheap at Dolar Shop in Beijing

Of all the hot pot joints in Beijing, none fit our budgets and fill our stomachs as well as Dolar Shop, with its salad bar of sauces and assortment of meats, seafood, vegetables and soup bases. We love the Thai curry soup base (¥15) for its subtle coconut flavor and just enough spice to keep our palates buzzing. It pairs especially well with the Australian shrimp balls (¥32) and special beef slices (¥26). Also high on our list of favorites is the assorted fungus mix (a deal at ¥29), fried tofu skin (¥10) and the hot pot staple, Chinese cabbage (¥8). All this, plus superb service, makes for an all around great time.
